About Sally

Sally is an experienced singing teacher, performer and educator with over 27 years in the music industry. Her career has taken her from opera and musical theatre to concert performance, recording and broadcast, including work with Glyndebourne Opera, Scottish Opera, the BBC and Sony BMG.

Based in South Manchester, Sally works with singers and performers of all ages and levels — from young singers taking their first steps to students, emerging artists and established professionals. Her teaching is practical, encouraging and individual, helping singers understand their voices, build confidence and discover more freedom in their singing.

Having completed Level One Singing Athlete certification, Sally is developing a neurology-informed approach to her teaching, exploring the relationship between the brain, nervous system, body and voice. She brings this into practical singing work, helping singers develop coordination, resilience and confidence both in the studio and on stage.

Sally has a particular interest in the changing voice and supports singers through periods of transition, including adolescence and menopause. She also works with professional singers, helping them look after and maintain their voices through busy rehearsal and performance schedules.

Alongside her private studio, Sally teaches at Mountview Manchester, Shockout, Manchester High School for Girls and Altrincham Grammar School for Girls. She previously taught singing at the University of Manchester for 12 years.

Her students have gone on to train and perform at institutions and organisations including the Royal Northern College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Birmingham Conservatoire, King’s College London, Italia Conti, Bird College and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
